-
Contact form
Go to Amtrak's Email Us page. Put the full name and street address on the mailer and ask to stop promotional mail. The page cannot change or cancel a ticket.

PaperKarma app
Photograph the Amtrak Guest Rewards mailer. PaperKarma files the opt-out for you.
Once you opt out of this sender, you can opt out of 100,000+ other mailers in the same app.
-
Phone
Call Amtrak Guest Rewards at +1-866-920-2404. Ask them to stop promotional mail for the name and address on the mailer.
A phone request can take 5 to 10 minutes or longer, depending on the phone tree, hold time, and whether they offer a callback.
What to Expect After Opting Out
- Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. An offer already labeled can still arrive.
- Tickets and points are separate. Stopping promotional mail does not cancel a reservation, a points balance, or a boarding pass.
- A later list add-back can start it again. A later trip or card signup can put the address back on a file.
Why Do You Receive Amtrak Guest Rewards Mail?
Amtrak is the National Railroad Passenger Corporation, the intercity passenger railroad created by Congress. Guest Rewards is its free loyalty program. Members earn two points per dollar on Amtrak travel, with bonuses on Business Class and Acela First Class, and can redeem points for reward travel starting at 400 points, upgrades, and gift cards. In December 2024 the program passed 20 million members, and those members now make up nearly half of Amtrak ridership. Trains reach more than 500 destinations across 46 states and parts of Canada. The leftover mail is a rewards or partner offer, not a ticket or a boarding pass.
You get that mail if you joined Guest Rewards, rode a train, applied for the Preferred Mastercard, or landed on a list they mail. Account notices about points and trips can still arrive after promotional mail stops.
How to Prevent General Junk Mail Proactively
-
DMAchoice
DMAchoice is the Association of National Advertisers' mail preference service. An $8 registration asks about 1,100 participating national companies to suppress your address from prospect promotional mail for 10 years. It does not cover local mailers, charity appeals, companies you already buy from, or occupant / current-resident saturation mail. Allow 90 days or longer.
NOTE: DMAchoice will not stop mail from Amtrak Guest Rewards as it is not an active member of the ANA.
-
OptOutPrescreen
OptOutPrescreen is the official Consumer Credit Reporting Industry site. It lets you opt out of firm offers of credit and insurance for 5 years or permanently.
NOTE: OptOutPrescreen will not opt you out of Amtrak Guest Rewards mail. It only covers prescreened credit card and insurance offers.
-
PaperKarma
For local and regional mailers, coupon packs, charity donation requests, and the large share of junk mail that DMAchoice does not cover, the PaperKarma app has the largest U.S. registry, with over 100,000 mailers on file.
Your Data Privacy Rights (CCPA & Beyond)
A promotional opt-out stops Amtrak Guest Rewards marketing mail. It does not always stop the underlying address from being shared. If you live in a state with an active consumer privacy law (California’s CCPA and several others), you can request access to or deletion of your personal information, and you can opt out of sale, share, or targeted advertising.
Go to the Privacy Policy page, or call +1-866-920-2404, and ask for a deletion or do-not-share request, and to opt out of promotional mail.
Frequently asked questions
How long until Amtrak Guest Rewards mail stops?
Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. If an offer arrives during that window, it was likely already printed and labeled before your request was processed. Tickets, points notices, and boarding passes can still arrive.
How do I stop Amtrak Guest Rewards mail for a previous resident?
Call Amtrak Guest Rewards at +1-866-920-2404 and include that person’s name and this address, or use the PaperKarma app to scan the mailer, mark the recipient as a previous resident, and submit the opt-out. Do not mark the person as deceased unless they are deceased.
Will Amtrak Guest Rewards mail stop if I move?
Not automatically. Marketing lists are tied to a specific name and address. A USPS forward can send a few more packets to the new address. Call again for the new address, or use the PaperKarma app there.
Stop junk mail from Amtrak Guest Rewards and everyone else.
Download the PaperKarma app free. Snap photos of unwanted mail: Amtrak Guest Rewards, catalogs, credit offers, charities, and more. We contact senders for you.
