Email request
Use the Email option on this page and ask CMEinfo to stop promotional postal mail. Include the full name and mailing address you want removed. Copy the template below, fill the bracketed fields, and attach a photo of the mailer if you have one.
If sending your opt-out request by email, use this helpful template for CMEinfo:
Hello, I'm writing to request that CMEinfo permanently remove my address from all direct mail lists, including your internal house list and any rented or third-party lists used to source your mailings. The name and address to remove as they appear on a recently delivered unwanted mailer: [NAME] [ADDRESS] [CITY ST ZIP] A few notes for your direct mail team: • I have never subscribed to marketing communications from CMEinfo. • Since I haven't opted in with you directly, the source is most likely a rented or co-op list. Please also flag this address with your list partners so it's suppressed at the source. Please confirm in writing once the suppression is complete. I've attached an image of the mailer for reference. Thank you, [NAME]
Replace the bracketed fields ([NAME], [ADDRESS], [CITY ST ZIP]) before sending. Attach a photo of the mailer if you have one, and keep the reply for your records.

-
PaperKarma app
Photograph the CMEinfo mailer. PaperKarma files the opt-out for you.
Once you opt out of this sender, you can opt out of 100,000+ other mailers in the same app.
-
Phone
Call CMEinfo at +1-800-284-8433. Ask them to stop promotional mail for the name and address on the mailer.
A phone request can take 5 to 10 minutes or longer, depending on the phone tree, hold time, and whether they offer a callback.
What to Expect After Opting Out
- Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. An offer already labeled can still arrive.
- Credits are separate. Stopping promotional mail does not stop a course login, transcript, or credit you already paid for.
- A later list add-back can start it again. A later course purchase can put the address back on a file.
Why Do You Receive CMEinfo Mail?
CMEinfo is Oakstone’s continuing-medical-education brand. Ebix does business as Oakstone Publishing from 1 Ebix Way in Johns Creek, Georgia, with a Birmingham, Alabama mail box for service. They sell audio, video, and text board reviews and topical courses for more than 30 specialties, with content from houses such as UCSF, Cleveland Clinic, Harvard Medical School, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Programs carry AMA PRA Category 1 Credits and, on some titles, ANCC hours. Oakstone also says the courses are free of commercial sponsor influence. The leftover mail is a course or CMEinfo Insider offer, not a credit transcript.
You get that mail if you bought a review, subscribed to Insider, or landed on a list they mail to clinicians. The leftover packet is often a recertification pitch after you already passed.
How to Prevent General Junk Mail Proactively
-
DMAchoice
DMAchoice is the Association of National Advertisers' mail preference service. An $8 registration asks about 1,100 participating national companies to suppress your address from prospect promotional mail for 10 years. It does not cover local mailers, charity appeals, companies you already buy from, or occupant / current-resident saturation mail. Allow 90 days or longer.
NOTE: DMAchoice will not stop mail from CMEinfo as it is not an active member of the ANA.
-
OptOutPrescreen
OptOutPrescreen is the official Consumer Credit Reporting Industry site. It lets you opt out of firm offers of credit and insurance for 5 years or permanently.
NOTE: OptOutPrescreen will not opt you out of CMEinfo mail. It only covers prescreened credit card and insurance offers.
-
PaperKarma
For local and regional mailers, coupon packs, charity donation requests, and the large share of junk mail that DMAchoice does not cover, the PaperKarma app has the largest U.S. registry, with over 100,000 mailers on file.
Your Data Privacy Rights (CCPA & Beyond)
A promotional opt-out stops CMEinfo marketing mail. It does not always stop the underlying address from being shared. If you live in a state with an active consumer privacy law (California’s CCPA and several others), you can request access to or deletion of your personal information, and you can opt out of sale, share, or targeted advertising.
Go to the Oakstone Privacy Policy page, or call +1-800-284-8433, and ask for a deletion or do-not-share request, and to opt out of promotional mail.
Frequently asked questions
How long until CMEinfo mail stops?
Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. If an offer arrives during that window, it was likely already printed and labeled before your request was processed. A course or credit you already paid for can still arrive.
How do I stop CMEinfo mail for a previous resident?
Call CMEinfo at +1-800-284-8433 and include that person’s name and this address, or use the PaperKarma app to scan the mailer, mark the recipient as a previous resident, and submit the opt-out. Do not mark the person as deceased unless they are deceased.
Will CMEinfo mail stop if I move?
Not automatically. Marketing lists are tied to a specific name and address. A USPS forward can send a few more packets to the new address. Call again for the new address, or use the PaperKarma app there.
Stop junk mail from CMEinfo and everyone else.
Download the PaperKarma app free. Snap photos of unwanted mail: CMEinfo, catalogs, credit offers, charities, and more. We contact senders for you.
