Phone

A phone request can take 5 to 10 minutes or longer, depending on the phone tree, hold time, and whether they offer a callback.
What to Expect After Opting Out
- Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. Mail already printed can still arrive.
- Contracts and obituaries you asked for are separate. Stopping pre-planning offers does not stop contracts, bills, or other account mail if you have a plan.
- Prescreened credit and insurance offers also opt out through OptOutPrescreen, the federal bureau opt-out. That path is not the same as Dignity Memorial’s own marketing list.
Why Do You Receive Dignity Memorial Mail?
Dignity Memorial is the consumer brand for a network of funeral, cremation, and cemetery homes under Service Corporation International in Houston. They list more than 1,900 locations, and some providers have served their towns for up to 150 years. The mail is usually pre-planning and prepaid-funeral marketing, not a bill. Their privacy policy talks about marketing emails and lists from data firms.
You get that mail if you live near a Dignity Memorial location, asked about pre-planning, or landed on a list they buy. A parent died, or someone in the house inquired, and the packets kept coming. This opt-out does not stop occupant mail from another funeral home.
How to Prevent General Junk Mail Proactively
-
DMAchoice
DMAchoice is the Association of National Advertisers' mail preference service. An $8 registration asks about 1,100 participating national companies to suppress your address from prospect promotional mail for 10 years. It does not cover local mailers, charity appeals, companies you already buy from, or occupant / current-resident saturation mail. Allow 90 days or longer.
NOTE: DMAchoice will not stop mail from Dignity Memorial as it is not an active member of the ANA.
-
OptOutPrescreen
OptOutPrescreen is the official Consumer Credit Reporting Industry site. It lets you opt out of firm offers of credit and insurance for 5 years or permanently.
-
PaperKarma
For local and regional mailers, coupon packs, charity donation requests, and the large share of junk mail that DMAchoice does not cover, the PaperKarma app has the largest U.S. registry, with over 100,000 mailers on file.
Your Data Privacy Rights (CCPA & Beyond)
A promotional opt-out stops Dignity Memorial marketing mail. It does not always stop the underlying address from being shared. If you live in a state with an active consumer privacy law (California’s CCPA and several others), you can request access to or deletion of your personal information, and you can opt out of sale, share, or targeted advertising.
Call +1-800-343-4464 and ask for a deletion or do-not-share request, and to opt out of promotional mail.
