- Donor receipts are separate. Stopping fundraising and catalog mail does not stop receipts or other account mail if you donate again.
- A later gift can add you back. If you donate again, your address can re-enter the marketing cycle.
Why Do You Receive Heifer International Mail?
Heifer International is the hunger nonprofit Dan West started in 1944 after feeding refugees in the Spanish Civil War. Giving people a meal was short-term, so they sent livestock instead. After World War II, seagoing cowboys sailed animals to Europe. The mail is the gift catalog: a printed catalog that asks you to give a cow, a goat, or a share, plus other fundraising appeals. That catalog began as a printed catalog mailed to supporters.
You get that mail if you donated or landed on a list they mail. You gave a goat or a heifer as a gift once, or someone in the house did, and the catalogs kept asking. Stopping promotional mail does not stop a gift you already paid for.

DMAchoice is the Association of National Advertisers' mail preference service. An $8 registration asks about 1,100 participating national companies to suppress your address from prospect promotional mail for 10 years. It does not cover local mailers, charity appeals, companies you already buy from, or occupant / current-resident saturation mail. Allow 90 days or longer.
