Why Do You Receive Jewel Osco Mail?
Jewel-Osco is the Chicago-area grocery and drugstore banner of Albertsons. Frank Ross and Frank Skiff started Jewel Tea Company in 1899 with $700, a rented horse, and a secondhand wagon, selling tea and coffee door to door. Jewel Food Stores merged with Jewel Tea in 1934. Osco Drugs joined in the 1960s, and the two names later sat under one roof. AB Acquisition bought Jewel-Osco from SUPERVALU in 2013. The parent merged with Safeway in 2015.
